Not with her... you volunteering? Hasn't happened in ... 11 years, ain't happening anytime soon. More likely I become the dumping ground for every bad day/date/conversation she has for the next few years until I can't take in anymore and give up for another 5...

I am not suited to prey on her weaknesses -- guardian personality type. She doesn't drink. I am morally opposed to your ... pastime.
I think I'm past the heartbreaking part. More the concerned bystander to the trainwreck in slo-mo. So much potential. So great a tragedy. But I digress.

i hope you gave her a lot to chew on as to distract her for a little while. but yeah, saying that you won't marry her until she changes her mind about having kids...uhh. i have a feeling she'll be hiding out for a little bit.

Are you saying third is high, or low? I think right behind Mom, and in front of brother is pretty good, actually, if I'm considering these things. I'm just not sure if I needed to know that, and particularly not sure why I needed to know ex-boyfriend is in front of me (or told at all for that matter). Frankly, boyfriend SHOULD be in front of mom, probably, definitely in front of me, but ex-boyfriend... To the curb!
I was in the middle of things (I sort of feel bad about that, but it was the middle of the afternoon and I was in trial prep...), so I didn't pay too much attention to the reaction. Eh. More time thinking about it than it's worth.

That's the point. She actually told me "I'm calling you third, right after my mom, first, and then [insert silly italian name for ex here], then you. Why do I need to know that?
No cancer. This is good news. Then my case got continued out of my hands, which makes me somewhat unhappy, and happy. I got into a shit-throwing contest with the prosecutor. This asshole said it was my fault that he wasn't ready to try all the charges. I was like "What about my client pleading "not guilty" and asking for a jury told him not to prepare? What about twice rejecting plea offers told him not to prepare? What about my asking the court to sever the charges 3 weeks ago told him not to prepare?" It was amusing. I made the mistake of saying I had no preference between three options, one of which was a continuance. It is what it is.
Anyway, this is more conversation than this topic deserves. NEXT...
